Jorge Gerardo Porras is a seasoned Senior Software Engineer with over 20 years of relevant experience in the field. He has expertise in Kubernetes, Containers, Build and Release Engineering, Platforms Scalability, Capacity Planning, Hardware and Software Monitoring, Software Development, and Software Design and Architecture. He is currently working at Domino Data Lab, where he is responsible for infrastructure engineering and building automation to deploy the DominoDataLab platform in Kubernetes and into different cloud providers or on-prem. Prior to his current role, Jorge worked at Verizon as a Senior Software Developer, where he managed multiple Kubernetes clusters and thousands of nodes used to serve Verizon Media/Yahoo! applications. He was responsible for full monitoring and alerting of the Kubernetes clusters. At Yahoo, he worked as part of the Engineering Services team, where he collaborated with Engineering, Operations, Quality Assurance, and Project Management to define and execute projects that implemented build and release of software. He was responsible for building, releasing, automating, and configuring changes into Integration, QA, Staging, and Production environments. He also developed an automated, continuous build process that reviewed the source code, identified build errors, and notified appropriate parties to expedite/facilitate synchronization to the latest positive build. Jorge's education background includes a BS in Computer Systems Engineering from Universidad de las Americas Puebla. He also attended Colegio Americano de Puebla.
